Bang Tao is a long bay on Phuket's west coast, with Surin to the south and Layan at its northern end. Behind the beach lies Laguna Phuket, a resort area of lagoons, hotels, residences and a golf course, and many of the area's residential projects are in and around it.

Cherng Talay (Choeng Thale) is the wider subdistrict that Bang Tao belongs to; it also takes in Layan, Surin Beach and neighbourhoods further inland. Listings often use both names, and many carry both. This page lists properties in Bang Tao; you can also browse listings across Cherng Talay.

Everyday life centres on the beach, Laguna and the shops, restaurants and services of Cherng Talay, including Boat Avenue and Porto de Phuket. Phuket International Airport, in the north of the island, is closer to Bang Tao than to the southern beaches.

Condominiums make up about half of what is for sale in Bang Tao. Inside Laguna Phuket they are the resort residences around the lagoons and the golf course — Cassia, Skypark, Laguna Lakeside and the Angsana residences among our current listings — and a short distance from the beach the low-rise buildings of projects such as Ozone, Modeva, Regent, Bellevue and Ocean Stone. Roughly two in three of our Bang Tao condos are one-bedroom units; asking prices currently start at about ฿2 million, most are between ฿4 and ฿12 million, and first-line and larger lagoon-side residences run to several tens of millions.

Many buildings have shared pools, fitness rooms and on-site management, and some offer rental management. Nearly every villa we list in Bang Tao has a private pool. Asking prices currently start at about ฿10 million for a two-bedroom pool villa; three-bedroom pool villas are mostly listed between ฿18 and ฿30 million, four- and five-bedroom villas between about ฿28 and ฿58 million, and the beachfront and lakeside estates at the top of the market from about ฿85 million to more than ฿200 million.

Inside Laguna Phuket the resale villas and townhomes are in its established residential estates — Laguna Park and Laguna Village among our current listings — and in individual homes beside the lagoons and the golf course. Outside the resort, in the estates toward Cherng Talay and Layan, our listings include Botanica (Foresta, Floresta, Forestique and Valley), Trichada, the Ozone villas, Peykaa, Sai Taan, The Breeze, Shambala, Wallaya and Oxygen, as well as new projects still under construction. Most are three- and four-bedroom homes in gated estates; several are sold furnished.
